In association with the Adelaide North Special School and the Disability Workforce Hub (Northern Futures Inc.), we are hosting a seminar and exhibition to inform the community of the learning and employment opportunities available in the disability sector.

People who wish to work in the sector, those living with disability looking for meaningful work and small businesses that would like to explore what opportunities might exist for them will all find the event beneficial.

The seminar and exhibition will be held on Wednesday 5th April 2017 from 6pm at the Adelaide North Special School, 135 Douglas Dr, Munno Para.

The exhibition will have a number of service providers and advocacy groups from both the not for profit and for profit sectors and government agencies. Those attending the exhibition will have an opportunity to talk one to one with service providers or regulators.

A number of speakers will provide an overview of the new opportunities for learning and employment in the disability sector as a result of the roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in northern Adelaide and the Barossa regions from 1 July 2017.

While the exhibition and seminar will focus on learning and employment, service providers in related fields are also welcome to exhibit.

We have been asked to host an additional session during the day (same day) between the hours of 1 and 3 pm for senior secondary students, who may wish to explore a career in the disability sector.

All organisations who wish to participate in the general night seminar/exhibition are WELCOME to participate in the daytime student session. The format will be slightly different, in that there will be a general talk session, followed by the exhibition. We anticipate up to 60 students attending.
