Mark supports Tony in his Shadow Ministerial portfolios of Planning, Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Veterans’ Affairs with policy advice, parliamentary liaison, community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
Mark has worked in government, corporate affairs and public policy advocacy for some of Australia’s largest companies and organisations.
He serves as Deputy Chair of the St Francis’ House Project, which recognises Indigenous leaders in civil rights, government, sport and the arts.
Mark previously worked as a political and policy adviser to the Government of South Australia and as secretary to the Steering Committee to investigate the establishment of the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Mark has degrees in history and political science from the University of Adelaide. His First-Class Honours thesis entitled Drought and Deluge is one of the few intimate comparative studies of primary source material related to the impact of environmental conditions on the first contact between British settlers and indigenous people.
