The 2017/18 edition of the Greater Gawler and Playford Communities Services directories for people living in the Light electorate was launched this morning by local Member of Parliament, Mr Tony Piccolo. Mr Piccolo produces the directories in response to the numerous enquiries his office receives regarding access to local service providers, particularly from seniors. The first edition was published in October 2010, with the Playford version added in 2014, with both now also available online at www.tonypiccolo.org/publications-1 They will be available online or in hardcopy, according to the need of individual user. Mr Piccolo said seniors wanted to know who to contact about a range of services, particularly when things went wrong. “We have developed these booklets in response to the type of enquiries my office has received from seniors in our community,” said Mr Piccolo. “Wherever possible, we have provided local contacts for a range of government or community based organisations and agencies.” “We have tried to provide as much information as possible without making it too complex.” “It is designed to be easily read so that information can be found quickly.” This is the fifth edition of this publication, which has been redesigned to reflect the feedback received. A range of seniors groups across the electorate attended the launch, including advocacy groups the Catalyst Foundation, COTA and the National Seniors Australia, Northern Districts Branch. Letters will shortly be sent to all seniors in our community inviting them to access either the directory online or order, free of charge, a hardcopy from our office.
