School Support Officers (SSOs) have had the contribution they make to the success of their schools acknowledged by local Member of Parliament, Mr Tony Piccolo.
Mr Piccolo invited schools in the Light Electorate to nominate support staff they would like to see receive a certificate of appreciation from him.SSOs in participating schools received their certificates during “SSO Week” which was celebrated throughout the state this week. Mr Piccolo said SSO week was an opportunity for school communities to acknowledge the important role that SSOs play in the running of schools and supporting our teachers. “SSOs work behind the scenes and often their valuable contribution is not noticed,” Mr Piccolo said.
“Good SSOs are worth their weight in gold.”
“While teachers get an opportunity to see the success of their work through various ceremonies that take place in schools with students, the SSOs are often in the background helping.”
Immanuel Lutheran School invited Mr Piccolo to personally present the certificates to their support and admin staff. The presentation took place at a special morning tea, and the support and administration staff received their certificates in front their teacher colleagues. Mr Piccolo said SSOs are a vital part of the team that help educate and care for our children.
