Community organisations in the Munno Para area are banding together to hold a quarterly community Market in the car park of Life Church in Karri Street, Munno Para.

Over recent months, representatives from the Munno Para Kindergarten, Munno Para PriMary School, the City of Playford, Renewal SA and the Office of Tony Piccolo MP have been meeting to discuss ways to improve service delivery and community engagement in the local area. Mr Piccolo said the purpose of the community Market is to give local residents a place where they can meet and chat with other people in the local area while browsing the various stalls. “It will be the traditional town square community Market offering a variety of items from fresh produce to bric-a-brac and more,” said Mr Piccolo. “Local people will be able to purchase some great bargains, chat to neighbours and provide feedback on any concerns they may have about their community. “The Market will be run by local people for the benefit of local residents”, Mr Piccolo said. The Market organisers are seeking expressions of interest from local people who would like to hold a stall at the community Market. The first Market, to usher in spring, will be held on Saturday 2nd September from 9 am until 12 Noon, with subsequent Markets planned for the first Saturday in December (summer) and March (autumn) and June (winter). Mr Piccolo said that with Father’s Day the day after the first Market, it will be an ideal place to pick up a gift for dad. The Market organisers said that there will be something for the whole family with emergency services volunteers and staff, service clubs and other community organisations joining in to help make the Market a success. Mr Piccolo thanked Renewal SA for providing financial support for the event, Life Church for making their car park available, and the school and pre-school for taking on the organisational tasks.
