Gawler Community House

The Gawler Community House (Est. 1985) is a small independent and community-based secular organisation. They are focused on providing activities and services which support the needs of all people living in Gawler and the surrounding community.

The Gawler Community House works with community members to achieve social justice, personal empowerment and social change at a neighbourhood level.

They run short courses/classes in sewing, language, literacy and numeracy, computer classes and cooking. Located at 2 Scheibener Terrace in Gawler, further information can be obtained by calling 8522 4601 or email admin@gawlercommunityhouse.org.au

Hewett Community Centre

The Hewett Centre run a number of different short courses including computer basics, music, photography, taekwondo, yoga and ballroom dancing.

University of the Third Age (U3A)

A self-help non-profit community organisation for retired/semi-retired people providing a range of activities that promote the mental, social and physical wellbeing of members. Current activities include: bell chime ringing, book discussion, chair dancing, computing, creative writing, various discussion groups, intermediate French, fun-games afternoon, intermediate German, intermediate Italian, mah jong, music for pleasure, ramblers, Scottish country dancing, scrabble, circle of life, tai chi, theatre group, ukulele and writing your own life story. U3A also occasionally have visiting speakers on topics of interest to its members.
