The roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in the Gawler, Barossa and Northern Adelaide regions from 1 July this year will create new job and career opportunities in the disability sector.
Local Member of Parliament, Mr Tony Piccolo said the community will gain a better understanding of the learning and wide range of employment opportunities available in the new disability sector.
“People who wish to work in the sector, those living with disability looking for meaningful work and small businesses that would like to explore what opportunities might exist for them, will all find the event beneficial,” Mr Piccolo said.
“Working in the disability sector is more than proving personal services; job opportunities and careers exist in a range of trades and professions.”
“Small businesses will gain a better understanding of how they might be able to provide services to support the sector as it grows with the roll out of the National Disability Scheme in northern Adelaide from 1st July this year.
“Those attending the exhibition will have an opportunity to talk one to one with service providers and regulators," he said.
The exhibition will have a number of service providers and advocacy groups from both the not for profit and for profit sectors and government agencies.
Nuriootpa based Barossa Enterprises will be one of more than twenty-five organisations that will be show-casing the new job opportunities in the disability sector.
