The Northern Carers Network (NCN) celebrated another successful year at their recent Annual General Meeting.
The NCN is a local community based carer support organisation that operate in the northern metropolitan region of Adelaide for the past 19 years.
NCN is a place where unpaid family and friends carers come first and friendships flourish.
Outgoing Chairperson, Angela Macfarlane gave her final report at their AGM summing up her 8 years as Chair.
“It has been a big year at Northern Carers Network for my final year” she said.
“I think the biggest accomplishment and the one I am most proud of is NCN delivering direct care services to participants on NDIS plans and self-managed packages.
“Another success is achieving Service Excellence Accreditation, not something that is easily gained” said Ms Macfarlene.
Maria Ross is the CEO and agreed with Ms Macfarlane that “the past year has been both challenging and exciting.
“Our organisation continues to work in an environment under constant change due to age and disability care reforms which has been occurring for some time” said Ms Ross.
Local Member of Parliament Tony Piccolo was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation at the AGM in recognition of his ongoing support to Carers and their families in the North.
“The staff and volunteers at NCN are amazingly dedicated and have achieved reMarkable results for their carers and families with over 5,000 carers connected over the past year” said Mr Piccolo.
