The Elsie Ey Children’s Centre at Hewett will soon be able to provide additional services as a result of a $2.5 million upgrade announced in this year’s state budget.
Local Member of Parliament, Mr Tony Piccolo has welcomed the new investment in the centre as it will enable further allied health, family support and community development services to be provided to the community.
“Early intervention is the key to ensuring that all children and young people get the best possible education,” said Mr Piccolo.
“We all want our children to achieve their full potential and providing the necessary supports early in their lives makes a huge difference.”
“This investment is further indication of this State Government’s commitment to give every child a head start in their schooling and young adult lives.”
“Over the coming months the Department of Education officers will consult with the school community to ascertain how to best utilise this investment.”
